Environmental Sustainability Project (ENSUP)
YISA Environmental Sustainability Project (ENSUP) is a greener future project designed to raise awareness and as well as take action to cushion
the rising effects of climate change in our communities.
This involves making decisions and taking action that are in the interest of protecting the natural world with particular emphasis on preserving the capability of the environment to support human life at present and in the future.Keying into the stand point of Herman Daly's (one of the early pioneers of ecological sustainability) 2nd and 3rd viewpoint:
- For non-renewable resources:
The depletion of the nonrenewable resources should require comparable development of renewable substitutes for that resources
- For renewable Resources:
The rate of harvest should not exceed the rate of regeneration.
- For pollution:
the rates of waste generation from projects should not exceed the assimilation capacity of the environment
While adopting and encouraging sustainable Agricultural practices, YISA also pursue this goal via:
- Environmental Sustainability education /awareness Programme for farmersOne Student One Tree Planting Project for schools and colleges
- One YISA Member one Economic Tree Scheme
- Organic manure project
